Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Ud S — 30 Apr 2015

This movie is not perfect and doesn't contain a lot of story. But some ultra dramatic acting by many of the top on their game English actors that never fudge a line, and are so composed. The beginning of the movie is one of the best middle earth sequences with Smaug causing destruction and talking at the same time, it's pretty unreal spectacle.

Then we get to some harrowing, calm, bitter cold snowy preparations for battle - where Bilbo, Thorin, Gandalf all get into a bunch of scary situations - the tension grows and then there is an explosion of drama, tension, courage, love, jokes, manipulative clicks, and a bunch of breathtaking action.

It has a lot of action and swordplay I'll give it that. It also has some ingenius scenes with Legolas and Bilbo that will leave you confused, excited, breathless and shocked all at the same time. I will be honest to you - I wasn't totally with it at the "Movie Theater" whilst watching this stunning piece of work - so I probably missed out on all the quiet, real battle scenes and stunning set pieces.

It probably was pretty unreal and a ten out of ten, I am just too out of it mentally to even see and respect a movie that should be considered a masterpiece like this. Who knows, it probably is worthy of a second viewing just to be enthralled and inspired like it was supposed to do.

There is probably a hundred little things that we missed out on because we don't always pay attention to unbelievable impatient movies like this. Just a huge movie for old farmers and young farmers, I really don't have anything to compare it to - even action junkies can enjoy this stuff, people that don't know a lot about stuff and the world can get some kind of enjoyment out of this kind of courageous and spectacular story.

I thought it was a totally crazy out of this world experience that made me feel like I could go do anything for anyone. The movies these days are insane. I find them to be not real. Pretty nuts.
