Should be 1/2 a star, but I wanted the horrible rating to show.
I thought this final installment of The Hobbit couldn't get worse than The Desolation of Smaug - but it did! The first 45 mins of TBOTFA was so full of sheer inanity and so completely deviated from the book it was mind boggling. The rest of the movie was just an endless slog of boring CGI battle scenes with interludes of face staring and cheap pathos. An absolute mess for over 2 hours. For shame, Peter Jackson, for shame!
