I actually thought this went by pretty quickly for a nearly 3 hour film (although I had read the book as well). The crap CGI aside (honestly, the hell were those Trolls and Goblins), this movie is pretty well acted and looks gorgeous.
I've always loved LOTR, so this was a welcomed throwback.
