Although the Hobbit is not as good as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it is still a good story to watch. The 10 extra minutes on the extended edition I felt added a lot to the story, enough to add half a star.
The extra 10 minutes I feel close a lot of little holes from the theatrical version. The 4th movie in Middle Earth does not bring a lot of newness but it does bring a good story and more Gandalf. Who doesn't want more Gandalf?
