Being a bit fan of the World of Middle Earth I was very much pleased with this films retelling of the classic novel. While a bit long it is still a fun time, and if you're a fan of Middle Earth you will enjoy this fun and lighthearted romp.
While it's not as dark or gritty as the "Lord of the Rings" films, "The Hobbit" book is not as well. While I don't think it will be remembered like the "Lord of the Rings" films, I do believe this is a great first step in "The Hobbit" trilogy.
