Review of The Hobbit (1977) by Darrell H — 29 Aug 2008
We had to struggle along with this little animated film to sate our appetite for all thigns LOTR for so long. Its heart is in the right place but it panders to a young crowd. Too much is left out for it to be authentic, but my kids still remember the Dwarf song and the slithering lisp of Gollum.
Call it an intro to Tolkein for elementary kids.
