Review of The Hoax (2006) by Bob S — 19 Dec 2007
Gere (and oddly not DiCaprio) plays a writer with some deep issues in a movie whose working title could easily have been "Catch an Aviator If You Can". The movie centers around a phony writer and the eccentric life of Howard Hughes.
Gere is as good as I've ever seen him - even if he looks oddly like Cosmo Kramer. It is very well directed - another great Hallstrom film. The movie is based on real life events, the impact of which is stunning.
