Review of The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) by Reece B — 14 Nov 2017
5.5/10.
Having laughed about twice during this movie, one being a chuckle while the other was very much out loud, it?s safe to say that ?The Hitmans Bodyguard? brings nothing new to the action/comedy genre. I will give credit to the fact that the action was slightly different than usual, I will take the credit back however, given that the only difference was that there was a whisper of John Wick in it instead of something of their own design. Unfortunate too that Gary Oldman?s incredible acting skills were wasted in this movie to play a cliched Russian villain.
With the jokes falling flat, the scenarios feeling familiar and the ?intense? scenes feeling quite dull, it was difficult to sit through the rest of the movie after the first 15 minutes. One could even turn it off after those 15 minutes and still know exactly how the movie would play out given how predictable it was. This movie was bound to be disappointing but luckily not much disappointment was found given how low my expectations already we?re. Save your time, watch John Wick.
