Review of The Hitman (1991) by Michael B — 25 Jul 2007
By looking at the title you'd think this movie would have Chuck Norris or some other character actually acting the part of a Hitman, but no, this movie doesn't. All of the conflicts take place in open environments and nothing about these kills resemble hitman-like conduct.
However, this doesn't really affect how amazingly awesome this film is. Norris kicks raw ass all while showing his soft side by teaching some kid how to fight white trash bullies. One thing I found somewhat strange was that when Chuck wants to teach the white trash kid's father not to beat his kid because the kid lost a fight to the Norris-trained neighbor boy(sorry if this is confusing, you'll understand if you see the movie) he decides to beat the shit out of the white trash father.
I suppose if he kicks his ass this will make the father not want to kick his kid's ass? No, I think this would just contribute to the fathers rage; that white trash kid is gonna get one hell of a beating! Character developement is deep & plot is nonsensical.
One of the characters is only capable of saying the word fuck. This movie is way ahead of its time and should be placed among the likes of The Godfather & The Wizard Of Oz.
