Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) by Jefflyn90 — 02 Jan 2012
Well if you're a fan of the book this is as faithful as you can get to the source...it has been rearranged a bit for the screen but it's all here. The director is a great choice, because there's a hell of a sense of humour and that's perfect for the source.
Altough there is obvious liking to movies like the fifth element, the movie does not steer away from the philosophy of the book that the universe is practically the same as earth only bigger. It's a very happy adaptation and don't go expecting huge fights and expensive set-pieces.
...this is where it veers abit because it can get messy with the fast editing. The cast is great especially alan rickman's depressed robot Marvin. It good fun to watch but its so faithful that some jokes seem repeated.
