Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) by Nickh. — 13 Sep 2005
Manuel M said... "Couldn't understand what they were saying so I stopped watching it." Ah, now that's a vote you can trust. A new 'Ebert' to lead the way, aren't you? English is though, isn't it.
Now, I loved this movie, I personally think it's going to go down as the most underrated movie of the year. Sam Rockwell was great and I really enjoyed the quirky sense of humor (aka British comedy).
I wasn't let down because I knew the only way this movie would live up to the books was if they made three or more films (Hollywood wouldn't take that much of a risk on HGttG) - kudos to the crew for making such a great, fun, and self-contained film that captured the zest and inventive nature of the original novel.
I'm sure Adams would like it.
