Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) by Steven W — 07 Jan 2012
I defenetly remember watching this film with my family years ago and I never understood half of the movie because of the age I had in that moment (kinda ignorant really). But today, January 7, 2012, I finished it and guess what? Now I understood the 80% of it! It's a progress really LOL. Still I must read the book or watch the TV series from 1981 or maybe find the game of 84 (if it still exists) to get it a 100% XD.
Plot: Mere seconds before the Earth is to be demolished by an alien construction crew, journeyman Arthur Dent is swept off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher penning a new edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Many adventures will happen and many stories will get involved to give it a great conclusion to it and also a funny one hehe. Stars for the creativity behind the adaptation of it? Of course!
Acting: I was thinking myself if I did a review for this film and I found out I did not (well I did not used flixter in the time this movie was out). Anyway, let's start with the amazing and talented Martin Freeman (like I said in one of my past reviews, I dunno why I'm watching many films of this man) but he nailed perfectly Arthur Dent. Funny, charming, interesting role defenetly. Zooey as Tricia was also amazing and stunning plus incredible. She did a wonderful job here (even if her skills as an actress have not changed that much till today 2012). Mos as Ford was hilarious and awesome (talented man). Sam as Zaphod was also bloody fantastic and funny (didn't remember he was funny at all since I have seen many drama movies of him in the past years). Alan as Marvin...gosh, it was hilarious. I never imagined he was the voice of the robot XD Now I know that hehe. Stars for the amazing cast, even for Billy? YES!
Music: BEST PART EVAR! Even the song of the opening was incredible. The musicians give it a twist and made it so colorful (really, it remind me of Star Wars and Star Trek good moments). Stars obviously for this masterpiece.
To end this review, 4 stars of 5. I would give it a 5/5, but since some parts were not that good, I can't, still, a 4 is great for a movie like this one. Enjoy and HASTA LA PROXIMA TERRICOLAS! CHAO! BLESS YOU ALL IN THIS NEW YEAR CALLED THE FIFTH!
