"Freeze? I'm a robot, not a refrigerator.".

- Marvin.

Don't panic and don't leave Earth without it. Arthur Dent is having a very bad day. His house is about to be bulldozed, he discovers that his best friend is an alien and to top things off, Earth is about to be demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Arthur's only chance for survival is to hitch a ride on a passing spacecraft. For the novice space traveler, the greatest adventure in the universe begins when the world ends. Arthur sets out on a journey in which he finds that nothing is as it seems: he learns that a towel is just the most useful thing in the universe, finds the meaning of life, and discovers that everything he needs to know can be found in one book: 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'.

Directed by Garth Jennings, 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy' features excellent acting performances from the following cast:

1.) Sam Rockwell (Zaphod Beebelrox).

2.) Mos Def (Ford Prefect).

3.) Zooey Deschanel (Tricia/Trillian).

4.) Martin Freeman (Arthur Dent).

5.) Bill Nighy (Startibartfast).

6.) Warwick Davis (Marvin).

7.) Alan Rickman (Voice of Marvin).

Though I haven't read the original best-selling Douglas Adams novel yet, I was glad to watch this Hitchhiker's film to enjoy the viewing experience of escaping to space when the Vogons were going to destroy Earth. (It's pretty weird and ironic to have Arthur's house demolished, too.) In this space adventure the hitchhikers explore planets as they're searching for the meaning of life that existed throughout history. I love the opening song, "So Long And Thanks For All The Fish", with its perfect moving accompaniment of scenes of swimming dolphins, and I feel like listening to this when I want to watch the film. As a sci-fi film viewer, 'Star Wars: Episode III' may be my genre's best of 2005, but I don't want to forget 'Hitchhiker's', too, for its great space comedic adventure. Oh, and HUMMA KAVULA!
