Review of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) by Steven P — 27 May 2010
This film, based on one of the best comedy novels in the United Kingdom, had the potential to be as imaginative and funny as its source material, but a sordid script, screwy special effects and awful acting don't do Douglas Adams' novels justice.
Plus, it did well enough in theaters, but it was ultimately overshadowed by Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which came out just a month later. The 1980s TV series of the book is better than this, if that's all you take away from this review.
