Sean Bean is no match for Rutger Hauer's 1986 version of the hitcher, but the remake is still not an utter failure. Bean, a quality actor, works with what he is given. The other 2 main characters (Andrews and Halsey) were not that interesting, smart, or worth remembering.
Funny scene is in the sheriff's office. Shot moves from the cop with a gashed open neck to Halsey in the basement jail muttering, "Stupid redneck.".
