Review of The Hitcher (2007) by Lace — 23 May 2009
The original Hitcher filmm was a nice little understaded horror flick. There is nothing understaded about this braindead remake, Sean Bean (usually a very capable actor) has his talents wasted as John Ryder (a role that Rutger Hauer made his own in the original). The two protagenests are so borderline mentally retarded that it's very hard to root for either of them to escape the absurd perils that the hitcher puts them in, and the plot is utterly awful. Racking my brain to find something ANYthing at all to say positive about this waste of money, I can only tell you that it's still better then the Jake Busey-helmed crapfest that was "Hitcher 2".
My grade: D.
