Review of The Hitcher (2007) by Jeff Q — 22 Jun 2009
I felt the original Hitcher started out great but slowly got lost under it's own weight, trying to be a thinking man's horror without having everything quite thought out.
This trend is similar in this embarrassment of a remake. The Hitcher 2007 starts out adequate and then quickly turns into a completely forgettable mess. **CAR CRASH** The plot holes in this film are so huge and so numerous, I can't imagine anyone being able to suspend their disbelief long enough. **EXPLOSION** The entire last hour of the film is a jumble of campless laughable mind-numbing hackery. The Hitcher is not suspenseful, not scary, not enjoyable for more than a few seconds at a time. **MICHEAL BAY** By the 45 minute mark, I just wanted it to end.
