Review of The Hitcher (1986) by Brandy C — 02 Aug 2007
Suspense movies and horror movies have to have an original plot, and not be all blood and gore, to keep my interest. One word: incredible. The underlying moral of this story is to "never pick up a hitchhiker", and this is a lesson C.
Thomas Howell's character has to learn the hard way, when he picks up Rutger Hauer. C. Thomas Howell gets rid of him, and Rutger Hauer decides to play a little game of cat and mouse with him...to mess with his head.
Just the character of the hitchhiker is creepy enough, and it proves that no blood and gore is needed to creep someone out. I highly recommend this film.
