Review of The History Boys (2006) by Savannah D — 01 Jun 2008
A very good film adaptation from the play by Alan Bennet with the same cast as the play had. Well acted by all yet throughout the film you cant help but realise that the young cast are acting as if it were the play.
Richard Griffiths is superb as Hector. The ending of the play is very theatrical which workds very well cinematically. The underlying homoerotic theme overshadows the tremndously well written wit in the script which is a shame but overall it is a very good story.
