Review of The History Boys (2006) by Aatif R — 22 Dec 2008
The overall ideas on how history is made, and how it can be random and unexplainable are well presented, and the cast of characters is interesting. The only downside to the movie is that it gives us what seems like a cursory glance at several of the supporting characters, but doesn't delve into them.
The play, no doubt, fleshes them out more, and perhaps in that sense, the movie tries to rush things and falters slightly. But nevertheless, the movie remains compelling and entertaining.
