Review of The Hills Run Red (2009) by Only Time Will Tell — 03 Nov 2009
Another horror film that's been hyped up beyond belief. And yet again is a total let down when I finally get to watch it. This has nothing new to add to the slasher genre. The plot is dull; the twists are predictable right from the beginning.
Cliché' moments throughout with spooky china dolls and children's Nursery rhymes. A deformed killer with complete with mask and mummy issues. That's not to say that it is all bad? I did still somewhat enjoy it.
The acting is above par for a horror flick. William Sadler and Sophie Monk stand out in particular. Also there are some nice gore and unsettling moments of torture. But all in all I have seen much better attempts at 80's slasher homage's.
