Seriously: why do horror films like this one always begin with a dirty gas station? ;-) Anyway, I've never seen the original but I actually like the remake. It surely gives you the creeps and is at its best very disturbing.
The acting performances are very convincing and the characters well developed. A little less intense violence would have surely been good, but at least the film has some good twists and turns (that not many horror films have!!).
