One of the better horror remakes ever made, thanks to Aja's visual style, tomandandy's eerie music score, KNB's terrific make-up effects and an strong cast keeps it entertaining, especially for those who loves horror movies.
Aja is certainly stays true to Wes Craven's original movie. Although this version focuses more on the Carter family than the cannibalistic family. Which Craven did focus on both sides on the original 1977 movie.
Strong production designs on the cannibalistic desert home of New Mexico, which makes this picture unique as well. Giving an almost Western gothic feel. Certainly not for all tastes. Followed by a so-so sequel.
