The thing about these remakes of 70s/80s horror movies is that the vast majority of them REALLY need a remake. BADLY. And 'Hills Have Eyes' is a great example. They missed an opportunity to take a scary premise and make it terrifying, but instead they made the hill people kinda corny.
So when I heard they were going to remake it, I had a feeling they were going to make up for it and make it REALLY dark ... and they did. They REALLY improved on the original, but I guess my only complaint is that they more or less remade the movie scene for scene and I was really hoping they would add a little more to it.
So it went from a bad 70s horror movie to a decent/watchable modern horror movie.
