In addition to making a vast improvement on the pathetic original, it's also clear that the filmmakers carefully studied The Big Book Of Horror Movie Clichés, and followed it to the letter. Nonetheless, the thick tension, the fabulous prosthetics and the gleeful gore galore make it a pretty entertaining ride, and an above average horror flick.
