Review of The Hills Have Eyes (2006) by Josephp. — 17 Mar 2006
I went in not expecting much and came out a lot more satisfied than one would imagine. One thing Aja gets right is the desert atmosphere, the scenery makes the film all the bit better. I myself have interest in nuclear testing and such so I might have came to like more than the next person.
But everyone should apreciate things such as the test village in which the mutants live, a picturesque 50s suburbian environment in a desolated desert. All in all it's one of the better horror movies I've seen lately.
Also the kills are shocking and satisfying.
