Review of The Hills Have Eyes (1977) by Jason H — 11 Feb 2008
Definately a great movie. The Hills Have Eyes (1977} lead to a great re-make. Wes Craven is my favorite. He has never made a bad movie. In the making of the re-make, he said it was time to update the existing film.
He did not want to change his original script, which is precisely why the re-make was word for word. He saw pictures of real inbred children and wanted the makeup to reflect reality. The set of the re-make was more vast.
He thought that the bomb testing site was a perfect idea for a place the inbreds would take refuge after their homes had been wiped off the face of the earth. Truely, the only difference was the actors and the intensity, which is exactly how he wanted it to begin with.
