Totally overshadowed by the director's previous Twilight Samurai. This film does have some interesting & funny scenes depicting the adoption of western military methods & technologies (and a decent sword fight) so might be of interest to genre fans, but it's basically the same story as Twilight Seibei's, just not nearly as engaging.
