Review of The Hidden (1987) by Ricky M — 16 Aug 2008
Low budget sci fi that certainly owes a debt to The Terminator and also utilises the age old low budget sci fi trick of aliens in human form that can switch bodies. But despite being fairly derivitive this is still great fun.
This is pretty much non stop from the opening sequence to the actually quite moving finale. Kyle MacLahlan is excellent at the FBI agent on the trail of a body swapping alien. We get a nice take on the classic 80's buddy cop movie and the whole thing knows the limitations of its budget and works well within these. You never feel this looks cheap.
Worth seeing for cameo's from future sci fi star Claudia Christian as a machine gun toting stripper!
Not a film that will change your life but an entertaining 90 minutes all the same.
