Some great performances here but the movie as a whole is incredibly uneven, disjointed as a storyline and ridiculously safe. If you can just about stomach the central 'nice white lady saves the day' concept, the fact that the worst threat that seems to face these women is that they'll lose their jobs is even more difficult.

Hello?! This is civil rights deep south Mississippi! Young black men were being strung up from trees, arrested and beaten in the streets, not just made redundant and ostracised from polite society. The excellent, nearly all female cast deserve better than this Hallmark style offering.
