My god...I LOVE this film!!! Based on Henry James' Washington Square, THE HEIRESS is a tribute to William Wyler's genius (and I am not using the word, genius, lightly) with Olivia De Havilland and Miriam Hopkins giving the best performances of their career.
The BRILLIANTBRILLIANTBRILLIANT performance by Ralph Richardson as the father is on e of the reasons he is still one of my top five favorite actors. (and Mr Monty Clift sure is pretty!).
