Review of The Heavenly Kid (1985) by Kendra J — 20 Dec 2009
This movie gets one full star from me, specifically on account of how wonderfully terrible it is. As far as bad 80s teenager movies go, this is probably one of the baddest and 80sest.
A hip James Dean wannabee teenager is killed in a game of chicken, but years later, his spirit is recruited to be a guardian angel of sorts to a dorky teenager.
Full of all your typical 80s teenage comedy gags, this film is hysterical transparent, with plot twists that you can see coming from a mile away. This film is good for nothing but a bad movie night, but if you think of it in that context, it certainly is a winner!
