Review of The Heat (2013) by Movie1997 — 27 Jun 2013
It's hard to do another project after having successfully pulling off a big hit. Director Paul Feig doesn't fully fit the envelope in this one, but for sure leaves us something funny to laugh at. This movie is surprisingly funny.
Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock somehow manage to work together. The story is typical, but original at the same time. It's a buddy cop movie, but it's a female buddy cop movie (Which is what makes it original).
There are also some other funny characters, but for sure, Melissa McCarthy (Once Again) steals all her scenes. She really makes this movie work and without here, this movie probably wouldn't have it's funny appeal.
Overall, it's a funny female buddy-cop movie.
