Review of The Heat (2006) by David L — 19 Feb 2014
The Heat is awfully predictable and cliched (you know every single thing that is going to happen next), but it is also extremely funny thanks to smart dialogue and fine acting. Sandra Bullock is good, but it is Melissa McCarthy who absolutely steals the show and again, after Bridesmaids, proves to a be a comedic gold.
Storywise, the film is mediocre, but it wholly delivers on the funny side and that's what comedies are supposed to do, making The Heat a very nice surprise.
