Review of The Heartbreak Kid (2007) by J K — 07 Jan 2010
Abhorrently vulgar but funny in parts. Unfortunately the laughs are too far in between and the movie relies too heavily on the shocking scenes for a laugh. I guarantee you will not see the part with the jellyfish coming.
It's that messed up. Picks up steam only to fall asleep about halfway through. I'm not sure who I found more annoying, Malin Akerman or Carlos Mencia. They both want to make me vomit. The funniest character actually was Jerry Stiller.
This movie needed more of him. Tries hard to recapture some of the magic from There's Something About Mary, but fails miserably. Maybe that's why the Farrelly Brothers have avoided making many movies since Mary.
It's dificult to top a classic. And yes, that's Eva Longoria at the end that Ben Stiller's about to dump. WTF????!!!
