Review of The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004) by Tori N — 10 Jan 2007
A very curious film. The subject matter is brutal but ultimatly repetaive. The main problem comes with their being no discernible structure to this film. It appears to be small child that hass a lot of bad things happen to him.
Bar the structureless story, this film has some very nice aspects in it. Th eperformances are exceptional throughout and Argento proves herself just as capable as her father as a director with some very nice visuals that manage to capture first person narrative nicely.
Without a definite structure though, the movie just remains a goegeous mess though.
