Review of The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (1968) by Jared G — 22 Feb 2008

I guess it's a good movie, but if you love the book, there's just no way to do it justice and this film doesn't even come close. There are some sweet and touching parts, but it's just so bare and and superficial compared to the depth and complexity of the book and its characters.

So much was barely touched on or ignored entirely and it left me quite disappointed. If you've never read the book, first of all, YOU SHOULD, but if you haven't, maybe this movie will be more meaningful and satisfying to you.
