Review of The Hawks and the Sparrows (1966) by Y'ng Y — 10 Jan 2009
Wonderfully shot by Tonino Delli Colli, an excellent soundtrack by Morricone and a talented crow actor which is more interesting than the rest of the cast. This is where the compliments end. The film has a sense of internal chaos (does not cohere well) and the thoughts presented are obscured.
It is comic and clownish, yet I am not tickled...
