Imagine having cancer and then having to move to a house that used to be a funeral home where strange shit went on! That's how it is for Matt played by Kyle Gallner (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Jennifer's Body).

He really has it rough. At first Matt's mother and his family start to think that his odd behavior and hallucinations are from his chemo medication. It turns out to be something a little stranger than that.

The new house that Matt and his family move into is a former Funeral home where bizarre rituals where performed on bodies that were removed from their assigned places of rest. A strong, thick 'haunter' that excels in all of the right areas.

If your watching for suspense and the sudden, make you jump stuff, thats all here, as well as a finely woven story of interest involving the paranormal. Elias Koteas (Shutter Island) plays a cancer stricken priest who tries to help Matt.

The binding of the characters Matt and the Priest was really interesting because the Priest relates to him the most. He explains the terminally ill as being "half alive and half deceased." Therefore they see different things than normal people that are healthier and alive.

Things like trapped souls, apparitions and souls that need to be passed on that are trapped. I love the eerie parts that are shot in that room with all of the sparrows or birds. That was chilling and weird.

Matt's room downstairs was pretty strange. Why would you willingly set your bedroom up in a creepy basement like that? It's beyond me. While very similar to 'Amityville Horror', The Haunting in Connecticut was a satisfying portion.

An ectoplasmic full plate to say the least. I would recommend it over 'An American Haunting' any old day in hell. 3.0 Starz.
