Review of The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) by Elliot N — 19 Nov 2010
Say what you will about the over-reliance on 'jump scares' in horror movies these days, "The Haunting in Connecticut" scared the shit out of me. And that is exactly what I wanted to get from this movie. Also, I absolutely love Kyle Gallner. I think he's genuinely talented - especially in horror movies, which he seems to do a lot of.
You almost didn't need the character of the mother (Virginia Madsen) in this, since she really didn't do anything or say anything of note. That was the only thing that really bothered me about "The Haunting in Connecticut". Other than that, it's a creepy horror movie with at least one decent actor. That decent actor being Kyle Gallner.
