Review of The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) by Zach K — 01 Sep 2011
I thought that it was pretty disappointing. I expected this to be a great ghost story, and I must admit that I was impressed by how thought provoking this film was at times, but there was lost potential here. The actual horror was made up of mostly predictable "jump" scares like everyone here has already mentioned, so I was almost never scared; mostly just disturbed by some of the graphic images on-screen. The acting (to a certain degree), atmosphere, and production values were good, but this isn't recommendable for anyone who truly wants to be terrified.
The only haunting thing about this movie is that my friends picked this predictable flick over classics like Rear Window and Wait Until Dark...
