Review of The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) by Natalie G — 19 Nov 2011
I'll admit I was expecting this movie to be an absolute zero but it actually ended up being half decent. It starts off very strong but ultimately ends up being another Amityville Horror clone (especially with the lame "based on true events" tag).
Some good performances and creepy atmosphere, but it really isn't all that scary, and things start to go downhill in the third act pretty fast. As with most other haunted house movies I just end up getting frustrated that these dumb families don't leave these freaking nightmare houses! Seriously, how many times does your house have to try and kill you before you take the hint? Good, but could have been a lot better (but still way better than the dreadful Amityville remake).
