Review of The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013) by The D — 26 Feb 2013
Very much a let down to the original 2009 tale. Again claiming to be based on true events(it even goes so far as to show an image of the real life people behind the characters) this installment moves us to a secluded woodland area with a new family, The Wyrick's.
They find the house had once been the home of a "Station Master" a man who helped slaves to escape their captors. As the story it progresses it seems there is unfinished business and the station master is not the good man he was reported to be.
Believing Mr Gordy to be a figment of daughter Heidi's imagination parents Lisa & Andy(Spencer & Murray) try to steer her away from the woods and it's secrets. Naturally Heidi is drawn in and a serious of creepy events follow.
Most of this is done by shifting from full colour to distorted black and white & it just gets really boring. It's not until the climax that anything, albeit quite graphic, actually happens. So in saying that it bores you for eighty five minutes and then a bit of loud horror and it ends with a really hollow conclusion.
A happy ending to a horror? I don't think so.
