Review of The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013) by Matt R — 02 Mar 2013
Seeing as how my Saturday nights are pretty much filled with nothingness which is why I turn to movies, I was wondering which film to watch next. Well I saw that I had this film lying dormant in my player and decided to give it a go. Well first of I did my research going into this film seeing as how I did manage to watch the first one which was meh... The second one is pretty much the same with the fact that the story is a tad more interesting than the first.
So a family moves to a cabin in the woods... lol reference. Anyway the protagonist ofthe film is played by Abigail Spencer ad she does a fairly good job here as the mother who is born with the "veil" which basically allows her to see ghosts and spirits. And this "gift " that she is born with is also present in her sister and her daughter in which she just tells her its nothing every time. And wen they move into their new home they soon realize that there is dark secret lying under their land.
I will stop there in the story. I want ot comment more on the visuals a little. Now I know that this is a budget title and that is why it got a limited released and then VOD. So I do give it some credit that the atmosphere was indeed dark and creepy. But one thing that really irked me was the continuous use of changing the tone of the film fron color to Black and White. It removes all tension of horror as you know when something is going to happen, when the screen changes color, somethings gonna happen. When there is color and something happens, it is most likely just the sound effects. But I still give credit for them trying and I you happen to have nothing to do on a Saturday night, then give a watch. But you most likely will forget it in a day.
