Review of The Haunting (1999) by Megan B — 18 May 2009
This is one of those films that I like to watch over and over again.
It's not one that scared me, but it's story left an impact on me. It's one of those stories of good .vs. evil that, well, 'haunts; me.
The screams in the film were so fake I wasn't convinced, but the special effects were stellar! The gryphon statue was my favorite part, along with the ghost of Hugh Crane.
There were some good lines too ("no one lives anywhere nearer than town. No one will come any nearer than that in the night. in the dark").
It can't replace the movie it's based off of, but it's not one to ignore either. If anything, it's worth watching for the special effects alone.
