Review of The Haunting (1999) by Matthew T — 19 Sep 2009
I remember thinking this film was OK on the big screen. Picked up a copy the other day in a bargain bin. For 5 bucks its not a bad buy but as a horror film it's too much caught up in its own CGI effects to be convincingly scary. I don't like slasher flicks but I do like a good spooky movie and this one really isn't it. Its more like an action-fantasy film set in the midst of an old house and there are moments when everyone in the film hams up their performances.
Good creepy soundtrack from Jerry Goldsmith. If you can find a copy of its worth buying. How a scary movie should sound.
