Review of The Haunting (1999) by Garrett V — 10 Aug 2014
The trailers for the remake of The Haunting looked interesting, and it's from the director of Speed, but when I watched it, The Haunting is a really bad remake that gets worst and worst during the movie.
Even though it has a talented cast, the acting was surprisingly in-consisted except for Liam Neeson who is consistently great and is the best part of the movie, but he can't save the movie. Some of the characters were very pointless and made me wondered why were they even there to begin with? Even the visual effects was in-consisted with some of them are good, and some of them are bad.
The main problem of The Haunting is not only the plot getting more and more ridiculous, but using special effects for scares doesn't work but makes it silly and makes it hard for me to be scared of something that isn't there.
Don't see this remake.
