Review of The Haunting (1963) by Cody F — 16 Feb 2010
Great looking and at times very effective horror film from the great Robert Wise. What makes this film enjoyable is the sound design, cinematography, and great camera work. The story is a little week and nothing really happens, it's just the same thing over and over.
The cast is good, but Julie Harris's character really got on my nerves after awhile. I like that Wise doesn't ever really show anything and all of the horror is through sound and creative camera angles.
Worth seeing for the look, but has something missing story wise.
