Review of The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009) by Sun Czar B — 10 Jun 2010
Oh god this was some lazy crap by Rob Zombie.
First on characters, the main guy was a total pompous buffoon who only cared about himself and even in his environment, he seemed like a has been that no one cared about. The only character that was more annoying than the main character was the Stripper with the 666 on her butt. The robot was one of the few positives thing from the movie. Another positive was Paul Giamatti playing the voice of Dr. Satan very dynamically. Back to badness on characters: Wait you had Tura Santana playing Varla and you had her doing only one line. WTF man!!
Second, the writing was so dull and generic, I heard nothing new. No neat phrases, no cool turn of events. It seemed like this writing was so bad that any of the Adult Swim writers could have wrote better than this.
Third on the package of the film. The animation was little better than "Mucha Lucha", I do enjoy the "Mucha Lucha", but if you are doing a full feature theatrical animated film up your visual craftmanship and/or improve the writing, because the movie to me came off as "Less than Half-Ass". By the way, it has songs throughout this movie.
Well, if you want to see American Animated Cartoon Plastic/fake Tits with musical sequences and/or you like Rob Zombie's Work so far give it a try.
