Review of The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009) by Pseudonym P — 19 Sep 2009
This is an incredibly difficult film to review because it's aimed squarely at a very specific niche audience. People who enjoy frenetic, dark and bizarre cartoons such as "Fritz the Cat", "Ren and Stimpy" and even shows like "Drawn Together" will probably get a big kick out of "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" (much as I did).
But anyone who doesn't like that style of adult animation, or anyone who has never seen any cartoons from the genre, will be completely appalled by this and probably leave within the first five or ten minutes.
That being said, if this style is your cup of tea, you'll definitely enjoy yourself, and there are plenty of surreal touches, funny jokes, hilarious songs, and celebrity voice cameos to keep you entertained.
There are also a lot of bouncing cartoon breasts. In my opinion, Rob Zombie should stick to this kind of movie fare and leave his live-action attempts at horror (particularly his "Halloween" films) by the wayside.
